The Saugatuck Douglas Police Department serves both the City of Saugatuck and City of Douglas, 24-hours a day. During the summer months, the population of the area swells to an estimated 8,000 - 10,000. Criminal incidence is relatively low with crime prevention being the Department's primary objection. Patrol activities command the most time and attention.
