Mayor

James Wiley is an Alma College graduate with a BA degree in Business Administration, a father of one daughter and a grandfather. His daughter, Devon, and son-in-law Jon along with their son Colin reside in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

James became a part-time resident of Douglas in 2003 before moving here permanently in 2005 when he purchased 2 self-service Laundromats, one on Blue Star Highway in Douglas and the other on the south side of Holland.

James has been employed in various sales and management positions from 1990 – 2004 where he would call on national accounts throughout the United States. Although he traveled extensively Jim would find comfort in the small town of Douglas and eventually make it his permanent home.

James was appointed to the Kalamazoo Lake Sewer and Water Authority Board on June 2010, the same year he was first elected to serve as a city council member. Jim is proud to serve as the new Mayor of Douglas and looks forward to the challenge this position will offer.
